At a Standstill

Hello, everyone! Sorry for not posting in so long. I’ve been pretty busy with school, obviously. It’s my last year, so this time next year I’m probably gonna be putting together your daily Pumpkin Spice Latte or taking your order at Denny’s.

Such is the straight-out-of-college job opportunities for an English major.

Not much has changed for me health-wise. I’m still on Prednisone, so that means I’m still diabetic. I also still can’t stop taking Prednisone yet because I haven’t started on my Entyvio treatment yet. For those who don’t know, Entyvio is a pretty new medication that was just recently approved for treating people with IBD. Basically what’s been taking so long for me to get started on it is my insurance taking its sweet time with giving out information that the medical center that I go to for infusions needs.

This is why relying on other people is actually the worst.

So that all being said, I’m still at the standstill I was at when I first got out of the hospital. Not in remission, but not dying either. I’ll take that over being nauseous all the time any day.

Although, I do have some good news! I’m in the running for being my university’s homecoming queen! Coming from a childhood where I was bullied by others taking advantage of my more than kind nature, this is a pretty big deal even just being nominated. I know that sounds super cheesy, but it’s true.

Hell, I used to get made fun of for reading. You’d think that only happens in movies (or books), but it’s way too real.

I’m pretty excited to see how things will turn out, though. I’m doing this all for the “college experience”, whatever that’s supposed to mean.
